PALS – Patient Advice & Liaison Service

The Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS) has been set up in every NHS Trust to improve services and help you get the best out of the NHS.

How can PALS help me?

If you are using our service as a patient, relative, carer or visitor, you may need to turn to someone for on-the-spot help, advice and support.

This is where we come in. We can help in different ways, such as:

Providing you with information and advice to make our services as easy to use as possible

Working with our departments to make sure you get information in the right way and at the right time

Providing information on support groups, voluntary organisations and advocacy groups

Providing information on local or national NHS services

Listening to your questions, suggestions, concerns and complaints

Working with our staff to respond to your concerns and make sure we act on the feedback we receive

Helping you access your own medical health records

Seeking the views of patients and public on the quality of services to help ensure they are of the highest standard
