Coming for an Out-Patient Appointment

Appointments. Wherever possible we will have agreed an appointment time convenient to you. If we have not been able to do this, we may have sent you a pre-arranged time and date, usually with two weeks notice. As a new patient, you can expect your appointment to be within three to four weeks from the time you were referred, in most cases. If you need to rearrange your booked appointment, please contact us as soon as possible.

If you do not attend your appointment without giving 24 hours notice, we will inform your GP and will not normally offer you another appointment unless there are exceptional circumstances.

Reception

Parking. We generally suggest that 2 hours parking time is recommended. (Car park charges.)

Waiting Time. We always try to see patients as close to their appointment time as possible. However, clinics do sometimes run late. We will keep you informed of your likely waiting time wherever possible. We understand that this can be very inconvenient; however, we also want to be able to see each patient in clinic for as long as they need and the time this takes cannot always be predicted.

Blood Tests. Should you need to have a blood test or x-ray, please arrive in plenty of time before your appointment is due.

Other Test or Treaments. It may be necessary for you to undergo other tests or treatments while at the hospital and this may increase the time you need to stay. You may also be asked to provide a fresh urine sample in clinic.
