The Shalbourne Suite - Planning your Discharge

Shalbourne staff

When you leave

You will be advised by your consultant or your nurse when you are able to go home and will be given any medication to take away with you.

Please be aware that you must not drive a car, ride a bicycle, operate machinery or drink alcohol 24 hours after an anaesthetic.

If you need to see your consultant again following your discharge, an out-patient appointment will be made before you leave or you will be notified of your appointment as soon as possible after your discharge. If you have any concerns or questions after you have been discharged, please telephone the ward and a nurse will be able to help and advise.

Ask your Consultant for a sick certificate should you need one. Remember to collect any money or valuables you handed in for safekeeping.

Patient Feedback

Your feedback is always welcome. If you are happy with your experience we would appreciate your feedback, as we are always pleased to know when we get things right. If, for any reason, we do not meet your expectations, we also want to know about it, so that we can put things right. We promise to deal with all complaints in an open, honest and fair manner, to help ensure that you receive satisfactory answers to any concerns raised. There will be a patient questionnaire about our service in your room should you wish to provide us with any feedback about any aspect of your stay. .
