The Shalbourne Suite - About your Admission |
Pre-admission Assessment When you are scheduled to undergo surgery, you may be required to attend a pre-assessment clinic prior to coming in for your treatment. Alternatively, you may receive a pre-assessment telephone call from a nurse requesting some health details. A general health assessment and screening will ensure that you are fit for surgery and for an anaesthetic. Whilst at the clinic, you may undergo several tests, including ECG (heart trace), chest X-ray, MRSA swabbing and blood tests. |
PRIVATE PATIENTS
| You will be given information about your operation and you will be given the opportunity to discuss your actual procedure, your admission, hospital stay and what to expect during the post-operative period. Should you have any queries regarding the pre-operative assessment or the appointment itself, please contact the Pre-Operative Assessment Nurses on 01793 64 60 60 between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, Monday to Friday. Emergency Admissions If you are admitted to hospital as an emergency patient and would like to become a private patient, please inform a member of staff who will arrange for you to be transferred to the Shalbourne Suite. This will be dependent on the consultant agreeing to treat you as a private patient.
