| The Pathology directorate provides the Swindon and Marlborough NHS Trust's medical testing service at the Great Western Hospital. Our pathology departments offer a comprehensive range of diagnostic pathology services and clinical advice backed by the combined resources of the Great Western Hospital and Thames Valley Network with supra-regional services in Oxford and Bristol. We provide laboratory and clinical services to the Great Western Hospital, local GPs and the Ridgeway Hospital, for NHS and private patients. We provide private, Category 2 work and treatment centre work. We can also provide work for other labs that are not fully staffed and private pathology services by request. All net income from private practice is used to support and develop our diagnostic and other hospital services.
